Vision
Vision is what drives the change. If we can create a vision that inspires, paints an image of what the change will look like, and provides the “why” (the importance for the change), we build a sense of urgency. This increases buy-in and commitment to change.
It is essential that the people involved understand why the change benefits them, their colleagues, and their community. We are often so embedded in the work we forget this very important part. If the vision is not clear to those who are involved, confusion is the outcome.
Voices from the Field: Vision
In the following video clips from IPP Seminar, Designing the Change (4/22/2021), Todd Karnofski from Evergreen Public Schools and Dan Gallagher from Shoreline Public Schools address how vision ignited a sense of urgency for change in their school districts.
